Chinese Cuisine in Bangkok

Inspired by the vibrant 1930’s Shanghai Art Deco period, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok’s The China House restaurant has been re-designed and revived into an avant-garde eatery that serves classic yet contemporary cuisine in a refined atmosphere.
The renovations took place over the course of four months, transforming the existing two-storey, colonial building (home to The China House since 1990) into an elegant dining venue. The period furniture upholstered with horsehair and cowhide, is reminiscent of the opulence of 1930s Shanghai. Talented chef Jereme Leung, founder of the much-lauded Whampoa Club in Shanghai, has been appointed as consultant chef. He in turn has named one of his brightest protégés, Chef Kong Khai Meng, to head the culinary team. Click here to book Oriental Hotel Bangkok |

In the heart of Bangkok's business district on Silom Soi 3, next to the Bangkok Bank, this popular Chinese restaurant offers patrons lots of in-building parking. It sits on the ground floor where it has been a landmark for more than 20 years. The interiors pale yellow walls and ceiling are offset by dark wood trim & dark maroon table covers while the atmosphere is bright and pleasant. What makes Silver Palace stand out from the scores of other Chinese restaurants is two things: First, the quality for value, as the friendly staff gives individual attention to each dish to make sure it is special for the customer. The Second thing that makes Silver Palace so poular is the "Peking Duck".
